Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion will put their pre-season training to the test when they face Champions League holders Chelsea.
Brighton and Chelsea will warm-up for their respective Championship and Premier League campaigns in a friendly on Saturday at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton will be hoping the 2012-13 season will see them launch a serious bid for promotion to the Premier League after finishing 10th on the ladder last season.
The Seagulls finished their 46 match campaign with 66 points thanks to 17 wins and 15 draws and this time around they will believe they can make a push for the play-offs at least.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have far bigger fish to fry, starting with the Community Shield against Premier League Champions Manchester City.
This will be Brighton’s first major pre-season friendly and they are hoping the fans will turn out in their numbers to watch some top quality players in action.
Chelsea, however, have just returned from a pre-season tour to America, where they beat the Seattle Sounders, drew with PSG and tasted a 1-0 defeat against AC Milan.
The tour allowed manager Roberto di Matteo to run his eye over new signing Eden Hazard and the paying fans from both teams will be hoping he features this weekend.
