Millwall v Barnsley Preview and Tips - Tykes set for two on the bounce on the road?

Darius Henderson is a big goal threat for the Lions

Just one point separates Millwall and Barnsley after four games, and a win for Barnsley will see them leapfrog their Saturday opponents.

Millwall are unbeaten at home this season, drawing with Peterborough and beating Steve McLaren’s Nottingham Forest. The Lions have only managed one point away from home though, with a draw at Reading on the opening day, in a game where they were 2-0 up, and a defeat at early leaders Southampton.

No Barnsley player scored a goal until last weekend when a Stephen Foster header and a Matt Done goal were enough for the Tykes to see off Reading at the Madejski stadium by two goals to one.

Barnsley are therefore unbeaten on the road this season, after drawing at Forest on the opening day. The Tykes have misfired at home, with only one goal scored (an own goal) while four have been conceded, with Barnsley losing both games.

A second consecutive Barnsley win in the south is sure to tempt value seekers at 5/1 with Victor Chandler.

Millwall won last season’s encounter between the teams at the New Den 2-0 (that score is 13/2 with Betfred) thanks to a goal apiece from Steve Morison and James Henry, who is 10/1 to score first with bet365.

A Millwall home win is 4/6 with most bookies and will be sure to tempt home team backers.

Barnsley last won at Millwall in 1995, with Barnsley hero Neil Redfearn getting the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win – 13/1 is the price Paddy Power on that score this time around.

A draw will keep Millwall’s unbeaten home form going, as well as Barnsley’s unbeaten away form, and is excellent value at 11/4 with Victor Chandler.

Recommendation: Draw @ 11/4 with Victor Chandler may be too big a price for draw backers to turn down.
