Sam Allardyce has stated that anything less than three points at Oakwell on Friday will mean West Ham can forget about automatic promotion following on from last weekend’s 4-2 home reverse against Reading.

It was once again a case of the Hammers taking the lead only to drop points, although credit to the Royals who are firmly in control of their own destiny after that result.

Both teams are in action this Good Friday, with Reading hoping to remain at least four points clear of West Ham when they host Leeds, although the Yorkshire side are still harbouring hopes of reaching the play-offs.

Reading v Leeds United 14:00 BST
Reading are an 8/13 chance with Paddy Power to claim victory against Neil Warnock’s side and they have been looking unstoppable at the Madejski Stadium in recent weeks.

Leeds realistically need to win five of their remaining six matches to stand a chance of making the play-offs, although Bet Victor are happy to lay odds of 11/2 about the visitors claiming the spoils.

Burnley v Brighton 15:00 BST
Burnley have threatened to make a charge for the play-offs although their midweek defeat against Birmingham means that Eddie Howe needs to start planning for the summer.

However, Brighton are in the top six by virtue of goal difference and Albion are a tasty proposition at 9/4 (Bet Victor) to claim victory in this match.

Watford v Blackpool 15:00 BST
Watford were tipped as relegation candidates by many at the start of the season, although the Hornets have done very well and sit in 11th place with six games left.

Form at Vicarage Road has been solid all season and they are 13/8 to beat a Blackpool side that are sitting in 5th place at the moment, scrapping away for a place in the top six. The Tangerines are a 7/4 poke (Blue Square) to win this match.

Barnsley v West Ham 17:15 BST
West Ham might be seven points behind Reading when this match is played, although it won’t stop thousands of Hammers fans starting their Bank Holiday weekend with a trip to south Yorkshire.

Allardyce’s side actually boast the best away form in the division this term, claiming 11 wins and 5 draws from their 20 road trips, with the bookies offering a best price 5/6 (Bet Victor) that they win this match.

However, the visitors are under enormous pressure to get promoted this term and Barnsley do see rather big at 18/5 (Bet Victor) considering the Tykes won their last home match against Peterborough.
