Sam Allardyce will choose an experienced team to face Blackpool in the Championship play off final with the emphasis likely to be on defensive solidity.
West Ham United will head into Saturday's Championship play off final as odds-on favourites to win promotion and much will be expected of Sam Allardyce's side who, almost to a man, have experience of playing at a much higher level than English football's second tier.
Experience will be key for the Hammers and it appears likely that Allardyce will call on many of his 'old guard' at Wembley, which means that a likely midfield of Kevin Nolan, Mark Noble and Gary O'Neil ahead of a defence including Matt Taylor, Winston Reid, James Tomkins and Abdoulaye Faye.
It will not be the most attacking side that West Ham have ever fielded but the flair will be provided by Ricardo Vaz Te and Jack Collison on the flanks with Carlton Cole offering a target for the 'direct' approach that Allardyce favours with his teams.
West Ham team to face Blackpool (expected):
Green - Taylor, Tomkins, Faye, Reid - Nolan, Noble, O'Neil - Vaz Te, Collison, Cole
