Tony Pulis would love to acquire the services of Matt Jarvis but doesn’t know if Wolves would be prepared to sell him

Wolverhampton Wanderers were relegated to the Championship in May and have already seen Michael Kightly leave for Stoke City, although another Wolves winger could be making their way to the Britannia Stadium.

Tony Pulis is clearly keen on recruiting Matt Jarvis, although Stoke might face some competition from West Ham when it comes to getting the player’s signature, while Wolves will stand their ground and hope to command a handsome fee for the player.

Pulis said: "I like Jarvis. There are a lot of players I like, but whether I can bring them to the football club, that is a different matter.

"Jarvis is a very, very good player that we have liked for a long time."

The Stoke manager is also looking forward to Kightly offering the other Stoke wingers some competition for places.

"He gives us a little bit of competition with (Matthew) Etherington and (Jermaine) Pennant, and last season we didn't have that.

"Michael will join another two wide players who, on their day, we think are good players and can create for us."
